Ballet festival brightens Celestún bandshell

As part of a cultural exchange between the state of Hidalgo and the town of Celestún, the Yucatecan port city will host a festival featuring the city of Pachuca’s folkloric ballet company.

The festival includes theater and dance workshops of the municipality’s new Concha Acoustica bandshell today at 8 p.m.

Pachuca is a hilly central Mexico city with about 320,000 residents in its metro area. A silver mining center in the 18th and 19th centuries, Pachuca’s influences from Spain and the Cornish region of England are still evident: the first football club in Mexico was founded in Pachuca, and the first football match in the American continent was played nearby.
