Celestún, Yucatán — Three fisherman have failed to return home from an expedition after getting caught in Wednesday’s storm.
The boat, called “Doña Tere,” was occupied by Manuel Martínez, Wilberth Suárez and Elías Moo. The boat set sail from Celestún at dawn on Nov. 9..
The boat’s manager, Fernando Mendoza, said the Doña Tere has two Yamaha motors, one with 60 horsepower, and the other 75.
Mendoza said the ribereños went to a point located 35 miles off the Celestún coast.
Search teams were due to head out when conditions allow.
