The National Immigration Institute has added more personnel at six international airports, including Cancún’s, to expedite processing time for travelers.

In Cancún the number of agents has been doubled with the aim of screening an onslaught of 150 passengers in 25 minutes. Airports in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta, Monterrey and Los Cabos are also welcoming new agents.

Frequent U.S. travelers to airports in Mexico City, Los Cabos and Cancún also have the option of using the Viajero Confiable, or Trusted Traveler program, if they are enrolled in the United States’ Global Entry system. Relying on a self-service scanner, the process is designed to take no more than three minutes.
