Area architects stand out at Biennale

Four architects from Yucatán were honored by their peers at the  XIII Mexican Architecture Biennale.

  • Architects Xavier Hernandez and David Eduardo Salas Castro Emir Cervera, of DOX Architects, won the silver medal for building the Zucchero Restaurant, in Villahermosa, Tabasco.
  • Xavier and Alexandra Abreu Sacramento, of AS Architecture, won an honorable mention in the category of recreation for the project “La Sexta” in Temozón Area North.
  • Alis Estrada Avila and Roberto Novelo Zoreda, of Architects SCP, received an honorable mention for the boutique hotel Casa de las Palomas on Calle 64.
  • The last honorable mention of honor went toward an academic thesis, “The virtual reconstruction of the Plaza Mayor of Merida, Yucatan” by Professor Antonio Rodríguez Alcalá of Anahuac Mayab School of Architecture.

All Mexican architects were invited to show at the competition for either construction projects or academic work.
