Brighter lighting for Paseo de Montejo, parks
The street lights over the Paseo de Montejo and a handful of city parks shine a little brighter these days.
The city has installed new LED lights, which are stronger and more energy efficient. They are also a cold white, which may take some getting used to.
With the nighttime Biciruta now established, the city is interested in encouraging more after-dark family activities, and safer lighting will encourage it, said Mayor Mauricio Vila.
Five parks are also under the new illumination: Francisco De Montejo, Japonés, Nueva Mulsay, Chuburná and Lindavista II.
