A photography exhibit, “Bob Schalkwijk/Pim Schalkwijk: Territorios,” celebrates two long careers behind the lens.
Bob Schalkwijk published “Mexico City” (Paul Hamlyn, Spring Books) in 1965, the first of a long list of books and exhibition catalogues.
The Dutch photographer has remained active to the present day and has taken more than 400 000 photographs in 45 countries, particularly Mexico. He continues to reside in Mexico City.
His son, Pim Schalkwijk was born in 1971, beginning his own career in 1995, using the large format, medium and 35mm film. His archive of more than 120,000 photographs covers various topics of Mexican culture, including Mérida’s architecture.
