Popular images of the Mexican Revolution — Pancho Villa, Viva Zapata! Armies with big hats and bandoliers — prevail, but important, if less well known, events took place in Yucatán.
For discussion will be “The First Spark,” Yucatán’s last grasp at independence, and the controversial leader who built a success model for the nation.
Speaking in the Mérida English Library garden will be Bob Temple, author of the long-running “Surprising History in Yucatán” series published in The Yucatan Times.
Free and open to the Public, donations accepted.
NOTE: Events are occasionally postponed or canceled, or a listing could contain an error, so confirm any activity with the organizer when possible.
