A reception for Phunny Phases, by collage artist and photographer Geoffrey Ellis Aronson, is 7 p.m. Friday, March 1 at El Zapote gallery, Calle 57 between 66 and 68. The show remains on view until March 29, 10 am. to 2 p.m. daily except Sunday and Monday.
Ellis Aronson has been dedicated to art for 35 years, turning his attention to photography and collage 18 years ago. The Connecticut-born artist arrived in Mexico 13 years ago and has lived in Merida for four years.
The artist is originally from Old Mystic, Conn., and was educated at the Savannah College of Art.
