Cosmovisiones, an exhibit by German artist Ulrike Arnold, opens today and runs until April 22, Earth Day, and the timing is most appropriate.
For 30 years, Arnold has taken landscape painting to a new level — using rocks and earth as her paint. She is continually expanding her repertoire. She is the first artist anywhere to use particles of meteorites (nickel, iron and chondrules) which she purchases from research facilities. Her fascination with the meteor impact in Chicxulub has led her here.
Also presented will be the work of the American photographer Victor Van Keuren, who, in addition, has documented Arnold’s entire creative process.
