Dear Neighbors – Some of you are aware that Mexico City’s National Autonomous University (UNAM) is preparing a master plan for Gran Parque La Plancha under contract with the Yucatán state government. The UNAM team is also hosting a series of public meetings to gather opinions and share information on the study’s progress, and it’s critically important all of us who want a public park in the center of Mérida, citizen or resident, show our support to the government officials and members of the press who will be present.
Location: CEPHCIS (UNAM’s headquarters in the peninsula), Calle 43 between 46 and 44, Centro. This stunning neo-Mayan building, known as the ex-Sanatario Rendón Peniche, is the former hospital for railway workers. It is located in the neighborhood known as El Industrial, just across from the Railway Museum on Calle 43.
The meeting will be held in Spanish. I hope you will not only attend, but that you will share this invitation with friends and neighbors who might be interested.
Thanks and regards,
Jack Robinson,
Gran Parque La Plancha, A.C.
