Mexico – Canada: Art as a Cultural Bridge

Sat., October 28, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

As part of the FIC Maya festival, which has Canada as guest country and Mexico City as guest city, SoHo Galleries has invited artists from each locale for a special reception.

From Canada, the gallery welcomes Jo Lomas, a ceramicist who is coming to the opening and Kreso Cavlovic (who will be represented by his wife, Goldie). From Mexico City we will have works by artists Eduardo del Valle (who has confirmed his attendance at the reception), David Roy Ocotla (an example of his work shown above) and Rene Rabadan Nishimura.

It will be a cultural exchange and a celebration of the relationship between both countries as well as a welcoming place for Canadian expatriates or visitors in Yucatan. As usual, drinks and hors d’oeuvre will be served.

A portion of sales will help victims of the earthquakes in the State of Mexico, Morelos, Puebla, Guerrero, Oaxaca and Chiapas.

(Updated to reflect date change from Friday to Saturday.)
