Only a little bit late for Pride month, “The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert” is tonight’s movie pick at Il Caffé, a charming Italian restaurant on a pedestrian road behind the Peón Contreras theater. Have dinner on your own at 6 to enjoy a free movie, aimed at English-speaking audiences, at 7.
As a counterpoint to last week’s somber drama set in East Berlin, Movie Night presents the classic 1994 Australian road movie starring Terence Stamp, Guy Pearce and Hugo Weaving (all in drag, no less) as they romp across the desert in a lavender bus to perform a drag show in Alice Springs. Winner of multiple awards, including an Oscar for Best Costume Design (of course). A classic comedy, not to be missed.
