2018’s Best Picture winner is featured as movie night continues celebrating Oscar season.
“Green Book” beat “Roma,” “Black Panther,” “Bohemian Rhapsody” and The Favorite to win the academy’s top prize. Starring Viggo Mortenesen and Mahershala Ali, “Green Book” revisits a time of segregation in the Deep South when even concert pianists with doctoral degrees were discriminated against because of the color of their skin and were forced to comply with arbitrary rules laid down in the so-called Green Book, a travel guide for Black travelers. Mahershala Ali, in his second Oscar-winning performance in three years, plays the traveling concert pianist who is assisted by driver/bodyguard Viggo Mortensen (in another Oscar-nominated role).
The screening is at La Bianca restaurant, Calle 55 497b x 60 y 58, Centro. Dinner on your own at 6, movie at 7.
