There are perhaps 500 people of German extraction living in Yucatán. But thousands of people will celebrate all things Germany on this particular weekend.
The German community in Mérida will be celebrated with the 14th edition of OktoberFest Mérida.
Tthe event is 100 percent family-oriented, including several aspects of German culture: dancing, gastronomy — and, of course, beer. Exhibitors who will offer various kinds of German sausages, pork and beef dishes.
Tickets are 50 pesos in advance, 60 pesos at the door; children under 15 are free. In the Centro, The Sausage Lady on Avenida Reforma are selling tickets.
