The Italian opera “Pagliacci,” with the Symphony Orchestra of Yucatán, conducted by Juan Carlos Lomónaco.
Written by the composer Ruggero Leoncavallo, “Pagliacci” was first performed in 1892 at the Dal Verme Theater in Milan.
Tenor Rodrigo Garcíarroyo plays the lead role with the soprano Marcale Chacón as his wife Nedda. Baritone Guillermo Ruíz, tenor Miguel Ángel Mena and baritone Enrique Ángeles round out the cast.
“Pagliacci” is one of the most performed operas in the world.
The opera is on stage 8 p.m. June 16, 18, 20, 22 and 24 at the José Peón Contreras Theater.
