Pianist Seth Montfort plays at Rosas & Xocolate.
Montfort made “Critics Choice” and “Top Picks” in most of the major San Francisco media. He has continued to be the frequent subject of feature articles and radio and television interviews throughout his travels.
Though he originally planned to become a naturalist in the jungle, he left that childhood dream behind upon making his solo debut at age 16 performing Ravel´s Concerto for the Left Hand with the Denver Symphony at the famous Boettcher Concert Hall. Winning 13 prizes in regional, national and international competitions and making the finals of both New York Chopin Competitions, allowed him to give thousands of solo recitals and found his own orchestra and “civilization unto itself” to replace “No” with “Yes” for musician’s dreams.
He has made over 160 appearances with numerous orchestras in the U.S. and Central America as the piano soloist in 20 different concertos. As the founder and artistic director of San Francisco Concerto Orchestra and International Competitions, he featured over 500 professional musicians in 470 orchestra concerts over 23 years. The orchestra was described as “solidly impressive” by the San Francisco Chronicle and “stellar” by The San Jose Mercury News.
