An opening reception for artist Samantha Michell‘s exhibit, “Perniciem,” begins 7 p.m. Friday, March 8.
Despite being a Chicago native, Michell’s creative upbringing was shaped living in both Mexico and New York. She studied at New York City’s School for Visual Arts and the Escuela de Artes Visuales de Yucatan as well as the Manhattan Graphics Center and the Students Art League. She resides in Playa del Carmen.
Michell uses mixed media to create her highly detailed line drawings that entwine narrative along with organic themes where the viewer is encouraged to explore deeper within the subtleties.
She has previously exhibited at Rosas & Xocolate, Casablanca Living Gallery and La Eskalera, all in Merida.
