Ruth Bennett, a harpist from New York, will be featured in a special concert Thursday, Aug. 3, at the José Peón Contreras Theater. The program includes works by Bach, Debussy, Fauré, Smetana and Lara.
Bennett has played in some of the finest hotels in New York City, such as the St.Regis, The Ritz-Carlton, and the Plaza and venues such as the Rainbow Room at NBC Studios.
She has also performed across the United States, Mexico, Asia and Europe, sharing the stage with artists such as Placido Domingo, Juan Diego Flores, Elton John, Sarah Brightman, Armando Manzanero and Duncan Sheik.
A competition prizewinner on the international level, Ruth won third place in the Dutch International Harp competition in 2012 and first prize in the National Harp Contest in Mexico City, 2009.
