El Pocito cantina is being re-opened by Joaquin Lopez-Vargas, the grandson of its founder. Now it’s very new, and still very big and steeped in its own history.
Lopez-Vargas is offering special tours in English around this huge, historic cantina. Learn about the origins and legend of El Pocito, how a 95-year-old tile floor was discovered and is now preserved in the Cantina Histórica, the original building from 1921.
Stay for dinner. Added to the menu is the Pocito Burger, which is made with all Yucatecan ingredients created by their chef.
No purchases are necessary to enjoy the free tour.
There is a parking lot and valet parking. Visa and MasterCard are accepted.
