Another concert and supper is planned at a private Centro residence, Las Palmas, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6. The concert, part of the Otras Noches Otras Musicas series, features the renowned percussion group Tambuco.
A four-time Grammy nominee including Best Classical Album, Tambuco was founded in 1993 by four distinguished Mexican musicians. Their repertoire ranges from structuralist percussion music to a wide range of ethnic drum music and avant-garde sound interpretation.
A lively welcome cocktail is followed by the concert and then supper in the garden.
This series of private concerts of world music and jazz, followed by dinner, is organized by a group of friends and patrons, including the famous composer Javier Alvarez (artistic director), Luis de Yturbe, Adolfo Patrón and Margarita Molina (founder of the OSY), Alejandro García and Angeline Fournier.
