Mérida, Yucatán — Shop in the Centro Histórico, win a car. That’s the tantalizing possibility suggested by the city’s Chamber of Commerce as it launches another “Come to the Center and Win” raffle.
Last year, two new cars were the top prizes delivered to lucky shoppers, while others were happy to win motorcycles, tablets, trips and household appliances.
At a press conference, the president of the Chamber of Commerce, José Manuel Lopez Campos, said the raffle will issue fewer tickets this year so that each customer will have a better chance of winning a prize.
He said the program is a “celebration of trade” that benefits small and large shops, whether or not they are affiliated with the chamber.
Tickets will be distributed April 25 to July 5. The drawing will be held July 18 at 10 a.m.
