Mérida, Yucatán — Not everyone gets Christmas off, not even in Yucatán’s capital.
Police, the zoo and garbage collection in the Centro’s commercial areas, are operating as usual today.
- Municipal police have 150 public safety and street patrol agents out today. In Santiago, Santa Ana, Mejorada, San Cristobal y San Juan, city sanitary workers will be making their rounds, keeping up with trash generated in business areas. Household trash collection is suspended today, however.
- Four crews with two trucks and and a solid waste compactor will be out today 6 a.m. until noon.
- And the Centenario and Animaya zoos are open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, as well as New Year’s Day, for the enjoyment of families here.
