Court date postponed, ‘Dance Mom’ to visit Mérida
“Dance Moms” star Abby Lee Miller will tour Mérida and Cancun before facing possible jail time back home.
The reality TV star, mired in a bankruptcy fraud case, was allowed to travel Mexico “for business opportunities” after a Pittsburgh federal judge postponed her sentencing date.
Miller is best known to the public for her controversial role in the Lifetime series “Dance Moms.” But she is also known to the U.S. federal judicial system after being indicted on 20 counts of fraud. Prosecutors charge she failed to claim over $750,000 of income earned from the reality show.
Court papers reveal Miller’s request to visit Mexico, starting with Mérida on Thursday and Cancun on Friday.
Deadline Hollywood speculates that the trip is connected to her dance Masterclass business venture.
This trip will be Miller’s final getaway before learning on May 8 if she will receive probation or a prison term of up to two and-a-half years, according to Deadline Hollywood.
