COVID in April: 1 death, but a post-Easter climb in cases
April in Yucatán ended with a post-Semana Santa increase in coronavirus cases, but only one death.
Most of the month’s 333 new patients were placed in home quarantine, and most of those were in the last two weeks. Only 28 new cases were found between April 3 and 9, but 171 infections were reported in the last seven days, Yucatán health officials said.
Nine patients are in public hospitals and 267 are under home quarantine, according to the health ministry’s Saturday update.
The mini-surge seems to have peaked Wednesday with 35 new cases. On Saturday, that number was down to 25.
