Crocodile mingles with tourists on Cozumel beach

A crocodile with a preference for sun and sand has been caught on video.

The reptile is seen strolling nonchalantly among beachgoers while staff at a Cozumel beach club urges tourists to “get out” of its way.

Although the video doesn’t quite back up this, at least one media report said vacationers were “stunned and in a state of panic when a crocodile walked between their lounge chairs on its way to cool off in the sea.

An astonishing video shot by an onlooker shows staff at the Mexican beach club urging tourists to “get out” of the water as the 10ft-long reptile appears.

This all happened at Palancar Beach in Cozumel, one of the most popular cruise destinations in the Caribbean.

The beach is near Punta Sur Eco Beach Park, which hosts all kinds of wildlife.

The 59-second video was uploaded June 30 and, as we post this, has over 16,000 views.
