
Direct flights every Thursday will link Merida and Tijuana starting Nov. 6, Volaris airline announced.
Tijuana is consolidated one of the most important destinations for the airline, said Volaris CEO Enrique Beltranena, noting that Volaris operates 285 weekly flights to and from Tijuana and since it began operations in 2006, Volaris has transported 17 million passengers to and from the city.
The airline already flies passengers from Merida to Guadalajara, Monterrey and Mexico City in 20 weekly flights.
Flights leave Tijuana at 10:45 a.m., arriving in Merida at 4:45 p.m., and leave the capital of Yucatan at 5:15 p.m. for arrival in the border city to 4:45, all times local.
