Google Maps launches motorcycle mode in Mexico
Google Maps announced the launch of “Modo motocicleta” in Mexico, which will offer directions and voice navigation for motorcycle drivers across the country.
“With this new function, users can see the best options to take a tour with that means of transport, taking into account tickets and other narrow routes that a car cannot travel,” the company said Monday in a statement.
Now motorcycle users will be able to see the calculated travel time, taking into account some variables such as driving speeds and other rules for such vehicles.
The user can also compare other means of transport to make mobility decisions.
“Google seeks to make life easier for those who use this means of transportation,” said Sebastián Hiernaux, strategic alliances manager for Google Maps.
This year Google Maps celebrates its 15th anniversary. Every day, more than 25 million updates are introduced worldwide, including street names, business addresses, public transport schedules and Street View images.
