Legendary Mexican actor-singer Pedro Infante, who died in a 1957 plane crash in Mérida, is coming back to the stage in the form of a digital hologram.
Infante was just 39 at the time of his death, but he had already starred in 61 films and recorded hundreds of songs during the golden age of Mexican cinema in the 1940s and 1950s.
The digital Infante can sing and banter with the audience. Unlike past holograms of Tupak Shakur or Michael Jackson, this one can be customized for different concerts, its producers say.
After touring U.S. cities in the South and Southwest, the show heads to Mexico and the Caribbean.
Daughter Lupita Infante, also a performer, said she plans to tour as part of the concert series, according to the San Antonio Express-News.
