Isolated showers won’t cool the weekend

A high pressure system lingering over the Yucatán Peninsula will bring high temperatures and humidity this weekend, reports the National Water Commission.

Temperatures today, Sunday and Monday will reach as high as 36C/96.8F in Yucatán and Campeche states. Quintana Roo will be only slightly cooler.

That’s more heat and humidity than is normal for late February, when 27C/82F is the average.

Clouds may bring isolated showers, but rain won’t bring cooler temperatures.

Winds from the east-southeast are anticipated from 15 to 25 kph with gusts exceeding 40 kph, especially in the coastal areas of Campeche and Yucatan.
