DURANGO, Dgo. — Jonathan Jones’ two-run double in the sixth inning led the Leones de Yucatan to a 10-5 win over the Generales de Durango in the last of six road games on Sunday.

It was Jones’ eighth home run of the season.

The double by Jones came in the midst of a six-run inning and gave the Leones a 6-5 lead. Later in the inning, Alex Liddi and Luis Juarez drove in one run each.

Oscar Felix (1-0) got the win in relief while Jesus Barraza (1-2) took the loss.

In the losing effort, Durango got contributions throughout its order, as five players had at least two hits. Santiago Gonzalez tripled, doubled and singled, driving home two runs.

The Leones, who are 32-35 overall, improved their record in the second half of the season, at 6-3, taking all three series since June 21.

They return Tuesday to Kukulcán Alamo Park to play the first of six home games, first against Aguascalientes and then again against Durango.
