While a state delegation is headed to China to promote trade, three city officials are going to Europe to promote tourism.
A trio representing Mérida are visiting Rimini, Italy, to participate in a trade fair, mingling with the world’s largest travel companies.
More than 2,400 exhibitors from 130 destinations, representing all sectors of the tourism, are signed for the fair.
It is the only exhibition in Italy where tour operators can plan their business and work activities throughout the year in two and-a-half days. The city’s tourism director, his deputy, and a councilwoman who is chairwoman of the city’s committee for economic development and tourism, are heading to the TTG Incontri conference with marketing materials translated into Italian.
The number of Italian tourists in Mexico increased 11.4 percent in 2014, according to the city.
