Mérida Restaurant Week 2025 will be a great excuse to dine locally

Mérida Restaurant Week is making a welcome return in September 2025. One of the Yucatán Peninsula’s most anticipated dining events, an estimated 300 restaurants will again offer fixed-price multi-course meals at affordable prices, affirming the city’s growing reputation as Mexico’s top gastronomic destination.

Started back in 2015 and now one of the biggest gastronomic events in the city, it was designed to encourage diners to discover new restaurants and sample new food experiences. The promotion features a wide array of cuisines, including Yucatecan, Mexican, vegan, Japanese and fusion food.

Previous participating restaurants have offered three-course meals of empanadas, brisket, and ice cream for around 109 pesos. One frequent participant, Trattoria la Pasta on the Paseo de Montejo, has featured three courses meals including bruschetta, spaghetti Bolognese or four-cheese penne, and panna cotta for dessert.

Mérida Restaurant Week Boasts the local Economy

In previous years, restaurants that participated reportedly received more than 90 million pesos in sales and 10 million pesos in tips from more than 600,000 diners. For some, this amounted to an  average sales increase of 300 percent.

The concept — which has been repeated in cities around the world — has caught on locally, with previous Merida Restaurant Weeks proving so popular that they were extended so more restaurant goers could join in. Now a worldwide phenomenon, Restaurant Week started in New York City in the early 1990s.

A mobile app will once again be made available on Google Play and the Apple App Store that will provide a list of restaurants, maps, and menus.
