Join us in December for a Mexico City archaeology extravaganza

The metropolitan area of Mexico City is a treasure trove of archaeological wonders, but the vast majority of visitors only ever explore the Templo Mayor and the National Museum of Anthropology.

In addition to these two unmissable spots, this tour will also be visiting impressive archaeological sites including Tlatelolco, Cuicuilco, Tenayuca, Santa Cecilia Acatitlán, Mixcoac, and the remarkable Acozac.

Tenayuca I is dominated by a large Mixtec-style pyramid, very similar to that found in the Templo Mayor in the heart of Mexico City — though in much better condition. Photo: Carlos Rosado van der Gracht / Yucatán Magazine

Though the valley of Mexico is most well known for its post-Classic and late post-classic Prehispanic architecture, we will discover the area is home to some of the very earliest archaeological sites in the country with genuinely intriguing histories.

This being Mexico City, there will also be plenty of opportunities to enjoy the city’s legendary cuisine, from taco stands to foodie hotspots and excellent cocktail bars.

The tour is Dec. 1 to 7, 2024. Because we will be moving around in a Sprinter van, space is limited to 15 people. So RSVP with Yesica at yesicabenitez@roofcatmedia.com

Note: Airfare will not be included in quoted prices, but we will be happy to suggest options.
