The streaming TV and movie platform Netflix gets a little more expensive before October ends.

As of Thursday, rates increased for new customers signing up for each of its three subscription packages. Current subscribers pay higher rates starting Monday.

For one screen, the rate rose from 99 pesos a month to 109 pesos; for two screens, the rate rises from 129 pesos to 149 pesos; the premium package for four screens in 4K definition rises from 159 pesos to 199 pesos per month.

Defending the increase, Netflix officials said their prices had not gone up since October 2015. Increased revenue will go toward improved service and high-quality content, they promised.
