Mérida, Yucatán — Not due to open for another nine months, the Yucatán International Convention Center already has six events on its agenda, reported CETUR, the Tourism Business Council.
Of the advance bookings, five are national events coming in 2018, and one is an international event in 2019.
In an interview with Sipse, CETUR President Jorge Escalante Bolio stated that the building will be completed soon, so event planners are already lining up.
The $1.2-billion-peso complex is on track to open in December. The three-level building in the hotel zone has a capacity of 6,000 people.
