Cancun, Q. Roo — Cancun International Airport, the Caribbean’s busiest airport, is expanding.
A fourth terminal is on track to be completed this year, and a 126-room hotel within the airport will likely be completed in 2018.
When the dust settles, Cancun will have the only Mexican airport with four terminals.
Cancun’s airport has already reported a rise in flights from the U.S. thanks in large part to the lift in flight restrictions under an agreement between the U.S. and Mexico last August.
And the expansion is seen as significantly expanding Cancun International Airport’s international rankings, in turn attracting more airline traffic.
New flights to Cancun are announced regularly on the news wires. The latest nonstop routes come from the United States.
Vacationers departing Rhode Island and Tennessee will fly to Cancun non-stop on weekly flights this summer.
