More than a few applications are likely to be headed to Cancun.com, which has an opening for a CEO: “Cancun Experience Officer.”

Not a Chief Executive Officer, a Cancun Experience Officer.

It’s a half-year stint, but the monthly pay is a healthy $10,000 (in U.S. dollars, not pesos — we double-checked that).

Applicants must have a valid passport and be able to live in Cancun for the entire term between March to August 2018.

“We will pay the right candidate $10,000/month to create videos, tell stories, and share their experiences living, playing, and discovering Cancun,” the employer says. The blog will be aimed at a U.S. audience.

The CEO will be the face of the Cancun.com brand and its newly launched website, a joint venture between U.S. and Mexican travel technology experts, TravelPass Group and BestDay Travel Group, respectively.

“We can’t wait to get started on our search for a CEO to be the face and personality of Cancun,” they say in their press release.

The job description is tempting: “Sleeping in luxurious beds overlooking the most pristine beaches,” “scaling 3,000-year-old pyramids followed by a swim with a 40,000-pound whale shark,” and “having the most enviable job on the planet.”

Applicants are required to make a 60-second video that explains why they are the best candidate for the job.

The top 100 applicants will be contacted in December with their next mission, and then the top 50 applicants will be announced on Jan, 4, 2018.

The top five finalists, who will be announced on Jan. 17, travel to Cancun for the final selection process. The winner will be chosen and announced on Jan. 31.
