No injuries in rollover involving U.S. passenger and guide

Stop sign ignored at 43 and 64, according to report

Merida, Yucatan — A car was overturned at a busy Centro intersection when a U.S. passenger and his guide blew through a stop sign, Sipse reported.

Their Dodge Attitude traveling west to east on Calle 43, crossing 64 without stopping. It was struck on one side by a Chevrolet Aveo.

The drivers and passenger were shaken but uninjured, although an ambulance was summoned along with police. No one was identified in the report.

“How is it possible that this man passed such a tremendous signal through the stop?” the Aveo driver said.

The accident report was turned over to the drivers’ respective insurers.
