Noche Blanca returns as Mérida reclaims a favorite cultural event

After shutting it down during the height of the pandemic, Mérida will once again host the popular Noche Blanca evening of culture.
So barring any big coronavirus comeback, the 2022 Noche Blanca is Saturday, May 28.

Mérida’s cultural office is reaching out to art galleries, museums, theaters and restaurants to make the all-night event come together.
The citywide cultural event was an early pandemic casualty, but gradually the city is opening up.

While it’s too early for specifics, past Noche Blanca nights have been anchored by a big musical act in the Plaza Grande and smaller performances in parks and theaters throughout the city, connected with a shuttle system. Art galleries stay open late and the sidewalks are packed until the wee hours of the morning.

Around 200 events were scattered across the Centro. They are usually listed and searchable here.
