Two truck drivers were arrested at the Oxkutzcab-Mani checkpoint and charged with pallets of beer and liquor.

The police stop, meant to check travelers for signs of coronavirus, revealed the cargo, which is forbidden under Yucatan’s dry law, which is in effect until at least May 15.

The drivers said they had purchased the liquor in Cancun to sell in Oxkutzcab, a city over 100 km south of Merida.

The suspects were detailed by police, reports Punto Medio. The whereabouts of the evidence was not reported.
