Puebla trounces Yucatan Leones after some erratic pitching
Merida, Yucatan — Herlis Rodriguez homered and had two hits, driving in two as the Pericos de Puebla beat the Leones de Yucatan 10-3 Saturday at the Parque Kukulcán Alamo.
Puebla scored in six different innings in the victory, including the third, when it crossed the plate for three runs, including an out and an RBI single by Alan Garcia.
Rain prolonged the game, which lasted more than six hours.
Sasagi Sanchez (2-1) got the win in relief while Yucatan starter Luis Mendoza (0-3) took the loss in the Mexican League game.
Puebla took advantage of some erratic Yucatan pitching, drawing a season-high nine walks in its victory.
The team will celebrate children today (Sunday) with a festival that starts at 4 p.m. Performances featuring the Cuchi Cuchi Witch and characters from the Avengers, as well as surprises and gifts. Access will be free for all children, adults will enter 3 × 1 and season-ticket- holders will receive two courtesy tickets.
The series against Puebla continues today at 6 p.m.
