Road work begins Monday at the Progreso exit on the Periférico.

The interchange was built in 1994, and is one of the most complicated for drivers because of traffic volume, reports Diario de Yucatán. It will be an even bigger headache for drivers during its 10-month construction schedule.

But in the end, the number of lanes will double, from two to four each way, said Jorge Montaño Michael of the state transportation department.
