An architect’s rendering of a new tower due to rise along the Prolongación de Montejo.
The north of the city continues to attract significant investments in shopping malls and hotel projects. The latest project on the boards is called MID Center, and will rise along the Prolongación Montejo, towering over the Krispy Kreme donut shop and Plaza Villas Hacienda.
MID Center is designed under the “meet + work + stay” concept.

The multi-use complex will offer fashion and luxury services on two levels, a 144-room business-class hotel and a seven-story corporate tower, all facing an urban central plaza. Seven stories constitutes a “tower” in this city of predominately low-rise buildings.
A MID Center banner has been hanging on the corner since March, and Diario de Yucatán published a prediction that construction will begin this year.
