Tuesday’s COVID cases bring Yucatán back into double digits
Yucatán’s health ministry reported Tuesday that 21 new coronavirus infections were counted in the past 24 hours.
Last week, daily cases ranged from zero to two. But daily cases began to climb a week ago, first incrementally — up to three by Saturday. Tuesday’s number was more than triple Monday’s count of six new infections.
Admissions at public hospitals rose from seven to nine. No COVID-related deaths have been reported since April 3.
Of the new cases, 15 were in Mérida; two in Progreso; and one each Conkal, Ticul, and Umán. A person from outside Yucatán — either from another country or state — was also infected.
Current patients range in age from one month to 107 years.
