‘Up’ lifting concerts come to Mérida

Children, youth and adults filled the polyfunctional gym at San José Tecoh to enjoy the show “The Journey” presented Up with People!, a world tour that is half-way through a stopoff in Mérida. Their visit, sponsored by the city, continues through April 20.

Local media reported that the audience was not disappointed.

Today the tour stops at the Armando Manzanero theater at 5 and 8:30 p.m.

The show consists of 110 young people from 20 different countries, and they performed original songs and spectacular dances representing other regions of the world. Their overall message is that of love, hope and solidarity.

The group arrived Monday and was greeted by Mayor Renan Barrera Concha and his wife Diana Castillo Laviada, president of DIF.

During their stay here, members of the group have participated in several community service projects in schools and community centers.

The independent international organization founded in 1965. The tour continues from here to Cancun, and then on to Switzerland.

Although they plan to stay in the city through the 20th, the last concert listed is this evening. Buy tickets here.
