Right away, the money raised from ticket sales and raffles at our Posada was used toward what we promised.

At La Divina Providencia, 10,000 pesos — two cartfuls — of kitchen and supply closet staples were delivered. (After Christmas Day, we’ll be able to report on the gifts your money paid for under the tree at Caimede DIF Orphanage.)

They nuns who run the old-folks’ home were “besides themselves with joy,” we are told by a very pregnant Kimmy Suki, who delivered the haul. The nuns were given a check for 2,500 pesos that they plan on using towards their Christmas dinner tonight.

In the end, through the efforts of so many people, we had a lovely three hours in the SoHo Galleries and raised funds to support La Divina Providencia and the Caimede DIF Orphanage.

So our thanks go out to our sponsors and ticket-holders. We are grateful for your confidence in us to do something positive for Yucatán this Christmas season.

Please support the businesses who supported this great effort to help others.
