Cold Front No. 10 has flooded streets and caused minor damage around the Yucatan Peninsula today.

Minor street flooding and fallen trees were reported in the Centro and various neighborhoods including Las Americas. Cars appeared able to pass through the water-clogged roads. Power outages were numerous both on the beach and in the city.

Children arrived in class wearing raincoats and jackets, most of them probably not accustomed to temperatures of 21C/69F.

At the Port of Progreso, which is typically windier, billboards, road signs and some beach palapas were knocked down.

The wind and rain is expected to last the day.

“This is why I left Seattle,” one expat complained on social media.
