Woman, 46, is Yucatan’s 5th coronavirus fatality

Merida, Yucatan — A fifth fatality was reported today by Yucatan health officials battling the spread of coronavirus.

Additionally, eight new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed, bringing the total to 91. Eleven of those are serious enough to require hospitalization. Nineteen are recovering at home, and the rest have recovered completely.

The latest victim is a 46-year-old woman with a history of chronic degenerative diseases. None of the people who lived with the patient have symptoms, but they are monitored by health personnel.

The identity or location of the victims have not been disclosed.
