The much-admired presentation “Banksy: Without Limits” ends this weekend.

The exhibit is a globally unique showcase for the works of the elusive English street artist, political activist, and film director. Some 160 originals and prints evoking his secretive stencil techniques are on display right here in Mérida.

The exhibition is open at the Yucatán Siglo XXI Convention and Exhibition Center through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Here is where to buy tickets.

Here are three good reasons to experience it:

  1. Unravel the Enigma — Banksy’s identity remains shrouded in mystery, even after decades of his thought-provoking graffiti gracing the world. Yet, his art speaks volumes—it’s often satirical, concerned with social and political issues, and unafraid to challenge the status quo. Each piece offers a glimpse into the mind of this enigmatic figure.
  2. It Resonates Here — Banksy’s interventions are fleeting works of art, appearing unannounced in public spaces — like this tree in London. “Banksy: Without Limits” resonates deeply with our vibrant Mexican culture, known for murals and political art.
  3. The Art Comes to You — Much of Banksy’s work exists as street art, which is inherently immobile. However, “Banksy: Without Limits” brings together the largest collection of certified original pieces for his devoted fans. Additionally, meticulous reproductions adorn the gallery, ensuring you experience his most powerful works in their full glory.

Banksy has captivated the art world with his politically charged, thought-provoking work. His iconic imagery of rats and policemen, first spray-painted on Bristol buildings in the early 1990s, propelled him to global fame by the mid-2000s. Despite his worldwide recognition, Banksy’s fiercely guarded anonymity remains a powerful draw for fans and critics alike.

The exhibit has been seen by over 1.75 million people worldwide.
