Mérida, Yucatan — A park exclusively for dogs is coming to the Paseo Verde, said Pablo Gamboa Miner, the director general of the Metropolitan Coordination of Planning (Comey).
In a press conference, Gamboa Miner announced that before the end of 2014, the Linear Park in Merida’s west side will have set aside 1,500 square meters specially dedicated to pets.
As a result of a series of “Encuentros Metropolitanos,” Comey concluded that one of the public’s main demands is the creation of public facilities where families can spend leisure time in the company of animals from home.
Therefore, Paseo Verde will soon have a dog park divided into two sections: one intended for large breeds and one for small breeds.
It is expected to open in December.
